Eligibility Criteria for KRCL Apprentice Trainee 2026

Educational Qualification

• Graduate Apprentices (Engineering): A BE/B.Tech degree in Civil, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering from an AICTE-recognized university. Specific sub-streams are also accepted for Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: A Diploma in Civil, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering from a Central/State Government recognized Technical Education Board or University. Specific sub-streams are also accepted for Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• General Stream Graduates: A Bachelor's degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Management Science, Journalism and Mass Communication, or Business Studies from a UGC or Central/State Government recognized University or Institute.

Age Limit

• SC/ST candidates receive a 5-year age relaxation.
• OBC-NCL candidates receive a 3-year age relaxation.

Physical Fitness Requirements

Stipend for KRCL Apprentice Trainees 2026-27

• Graduate Apprentices: Will receive a total stipend of Rs. 12,300 per month (Rs. 6,150 from Government DBT share and Rs. 6,150 from KRCL establishment share).
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Will receive a total stipend of Rs. 10,900 per month (Rs. 5,450 from Government DBT share and Rs. 5,450 from KRCL establishment share).

Application Fee for KRCL Apprentice Trainee

• Candidates from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) may be eligible for a fee waiver upon submission of an income certificate issued by the Tehsildar.
• Minority community candidates can claim a fee waiver by submitting a self-declaration affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper.

KRCL Apprentice Trainee Selection Process 2026-27

1. Merit List from Academic Marks: A merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate percentage of marks obtained across all semesters/years of the qualifying examination. No rounding off of marks or additional weightage for specific semesters/years will be applied.
2. Tie-Breaking Criteria: If multiple candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be given preference. If their dates of birth are also identical, the candidate who passed matriculation (10th standard) earlier will be selected.
3. Land Loser Preference: Candidates whose land was acquired for the Konkan Railway Project will receive the first preference in the selection process.
4. KRCL Jurisdiction Preference: Candidates hailing from districts within KRCL's jurisdiction (Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg in Maharashtra; North Goa, South Goa in Goa; and Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka) will be given second preference.
5. Document Verification: All shortlisted candidates must attend document verification with all required original testimonials and their self-attested photocopies.
6. Medical Fitness: Final selection is subject to certification of medical fitness by KRCL's Medical Authority.

• All semester/year-wise mark sheets and the Degree/Diploma certificate.
• 10th Pass/Matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth.
• Land loser certificate and Tehsildar certificate (for land loser candidates), with supporting RTC land documents and proof of relationship.
• Legal heir and death certificate of the land loser, if applicable.
• Domicile certificate.
• Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC) in the Central Government format, and OBC-NCL certificate issued by the Tehsildar, to claim reservation.
• Income and Asset Certificate for EWS category candidates.
• Income certificate from the Tehsildar and Minority Community declaration affidavit, for fee waiver where applicable.
• Gazette notification or legal document for any formal change of name.
• Two attested passport-size photographs.
• Aadhaar card and PAN card.
• A valid, approved NATS ID.
• Medical certificate in the prescribed Apprentice Act, 1961 format, certified by a Government Doctor not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon.

How to Apply for KRCL Apprentice Trainee Recruitment 2026-27

1. NATS Portal Registration: First, register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal and obtain a valid, approved NATS ID. This ID is crucial for participation.
2. Check Document Verification Schedule: Refer to the official notification for your post-wise Document Verification date, which falls between 24 and 28 August 2026.
3. Prepare Documents: Gather all original documents and their self-attested photocopies as listed in the "Documents Required" section. Ensure your medical certificate is also ready.
4. Attend Document Verification: Arrive at the venue, Executives Club, Konkan Rail Vihar, Sector-40, Opp. Seawoods Railway Station (West), Navi Mumbai-400706, on your scheduled date. Complete the registration process between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
