The Atal Bihari Vajpayee- Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior, has announced a recruitment drive for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Project Associate-1 position. This opportunity is for a project sponsored by ANRF, focusing on "Socially-Interactive Vacuum Cleaning Robot for On-Human Demand and Human-Instructed Cleaning." The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Rahul Kala and may also be eligible for enrollment in a Ph.D. program at the institute, subject to norms. The project duration is a maximum of three years, extendable up to five years.

Vacancy Details

Only one position is available for this research project. Initially, selections will be made for the JRF position. If no suitable candidate is found for JRF, candidates for the Project Associate-1 position will be considered.

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Candidates must meet specific educational qualifications for each role. A strong background in relevant engineering disciplines is essential.

Additionally, applicants must hold a B.Tech/B.E./M.Sc. in one of these relevant fields.	A mandatory requirement for JRF is to have qualified GATE/CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship) in the relevant area.
Project Associate-1	Applicants should have a B.Tech/B.E./equivalent degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), Electronics and Communication (EC), Electrical Engineering (EE), or Mechanical Engineering (ME).	Candidates are preferably expected to have qualified GATE/CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship). If GATE/NET is not qualified, the monthly emoluments will be determined according to ANRF/DST norms.

Desirable Qualification: Basic knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, robotics, or large language models is highly desirable for both positions.

Fellowship and Pay Scale

The fellowship for the selected Junior Research Fellow or Project Associate-1 will be as per the norms set by ANRF/DST. Payment of the fellowship is contingent upon the receipt of funds from the sponsoring agency. A JRF candidate may be promoted to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) after 2 years, and a Project Associate-1 candidate may be promoted to Project Associate-II after 2 years, both as per project/institute norms.
