Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

  • General Academic Requirements:
    • A Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a concerned, relevant, or allied subject from an Indian University or an accredited foreign university.
    • Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar UGC-accredited test like SLET/SET.
    • Alternatively, candidates holding a Ph.D. degree awarded in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016, are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
    • Ph.D. candidates registered before July 11, 2009, are also exempted from NET/SLET/SET if their degree was awarded in a regular mode, evaluated by at least two external examiners, included an open Ph.D. viva voce, involved two published research papers (at least one in a refereed journal), and two conference papers presented.
    • A Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (QS, THE, or ARWU) is also acceptable.
  • Specific Qualifications for Computer Science and Engineering (Post 01):
    • Essential: M.Tech./M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Engineering, AI, Data Science Technology, or Software.
