About DoT Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued a vacancy circular for the recruitment of Junior Engineer (Telecom) Group 'B' Non-Gazetted posts in its Maharashtra Licensed Service Area (LSA) and Goa units. This DoT Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 is being conducted on a deputation basis, inviting applications from eligible personnel currently serving in Central or State Governments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Universities, or recognized research institutions. The objective is to fill critical positions with experienced professionals, ensuring the smooth functioning of telecom services in the region.

Vacancy Details

A total of 2 vacancies have been announced for the Junior Engineer (Telecom) post, distributed across the DoT's units in Maharashtra and Goa.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements related to their current employment status and educational qualifications to be considered for these deputation posts.

• Current Employment Status: Applicants must be officers of the Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, autonomous bodies, statutory organizations, public sector undertakings, universities, or recognized research institutions.
• Service Requirement:
  • Holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
  • Having rendered six years of service after appointment to a regular post in Level-5 of the pay matrix (Rs. 29200-92300) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.
• Educational Qualification:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in Electrical, Electronics, Electrical Communications, Electronics Communications, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or Instrumentation from a recognized University or Institute. OR
  • Candidates who passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India) or passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India) or passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III or Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India, provided they were enrolled with these institutions up to 31st May 2013, are also eligible.

Age Limit

The maximum age for appointment on deputation, including short-term contracts, is set at 56 years as of the closing date for receiving applications.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates for the Junior Engineer (Telecom) post will be placed in Level 6 of the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix.

Deputation Period

The initial period of deputation will be for 3 years. This period may be extended further based on administrative requirements or until a regular incumbent joins the post, whichever occurs earlier. The deputation can be terminated at any time prior to its completion if required.

The last date for receipt of applications is 8 weeks from the date of publication of the circular, which calculates to 29 September 2026. Applications received after this deadline, not forwarded through proper channel, or found incomplete will be summarily rejected.

Documents Required

• Statement detailing any Major/Minor penalties imposed on the officer during the last ten years.
• Vigilance Clearance/Integrity Certificate.
• Photocopies of the ACRs/APARs for the last five years, duly attested on each page by an officer not below the level of Under Secretary or equivalent.
• Declaration in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-D).
• Certificate recorded by the Head of Department while forwarding the application (Annexure-E).

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure will be determined by the Competent Authority. The Head of MH LSA reserves the right to accept or reject any or all responses, in part or in full, without providing any reasons. The selection will adhere to the norms and existing rules on the subject, and the decision of the Head of MH LSA will be final and binding.
