The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, a premier institute dedicated to research and teaching in basic sciences, has announced a recruitment drive for temporary and contractual positions. Established in 2006 and declared an Institute of National Importance in 2012, IISER Pune is inviting applications for 3 posts of Senior Project Associate and Project Assistant under a privately funded project. Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualifications

Applicants must meet the minimum educational qualifications and experience requirements as specified for each post. The prescribed qualifications are the bare minimum, and candidates with higher qualifications or relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Project Assistant	M.Sc. in Physics / Chemistry / Materials Science OR B.E. / B.Tech. in Materials Science / Chemical Engineering. OR B.Sc. in Physics / Chemistry or related areas with 1 year of work experience.	Candidates who have done project work on energy materials and/or have post-M.Sc. related hands-on experience will be preferred.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for applicants varies by post. Age relaxation may be considered for candidates with qualifications and experience higher than advertised, subject to approval by the competent authority.

Salary and Emoluments

The consolidated monthly emoluments include a House Rent Allowance (HRA). For the Senior Project Associate role, the initial emolument is for a Project Associate-II, which will be revised upon submission of the Provisional Ph.D. Certificate or the Ph.D. Degree Certificate.

Roles and Responsibilities

Both the Senior Project Associate and Project Assistant roles primarily involve developing, testing, and optimizing materials for next-generation batteries. This includes hands-on work with battery materials, electrochemical characterizations, analytical techniques, data analysis, and device testing.

Selection Process

The selection process for these positions will involve shortlisting candidates based on their applications, followed by an online interview.

1. Application Shortlisting — Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their submitted applications and how well their qualifications and experience match the project requirements.
2. Online Interview — Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email and interviewed online using Zoom software.
3. Document Verification — At an appropriate stage, photocopies of relevant certificates supporting age, educational qualifications, and experience, along with a recent passport-size color photograph, will be collected and verified.

The number of posts may vary depending on the requirements during the selection process. The experience requirement may also be relaxed for a strong cohort of applicants, with prior approval.
