Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

• Full Time / Part Time Specialist: Applicants need an MBBS degree with a PG Degree or Diploma (or equivalent) in the concerned specialty from a recognized university. This must be accompanied by 3 years of experience after acquiring the PG Degree, or a minimum of 5 years of experience after a Graduate Diploma. For Endodontics, a PG Degree (MDS) with 3 years of experience is required.
• Senior Resident (3 Year): Candidates should possess an MBBS degree with a PG Degree or Diploma (or equivalent) in the relevant specialty from a recognized university.
• Senior Resident (1 Year): An MBBS Degree from an NMC recognized Medical College/Institution is required, along with two years of experience. One year of this experience must be in General Medicine or General Surgery from a Government Hospital or Private Hospital (excluding private clinics). Candidates must have completed their Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship and be registered with the NMC or Tamil Nadu State Medical Council.

Age Limits and Relaxation

• Full Time / Part Time Specialist: The age should not exceed 67 years on the date of the interview.
• Senior Resident (3 Year): The maximum age is 45 years on the date of the interview. Age relaxation is provided for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-serviceman candidates as per rules.
• Senior Resident (1 Year): Candidates must not be older than 30 years on the interview date. No age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved vacancies in this category.

Remuneration Structure

• Full Time Specialist: Rs. 1,42,514/- per month.
• Part Time Specialist: Rs. 60,000/- for 16 hours per week (4 days/week). An additional Rs. 15,000/- will be paid for every extra hour worked above 16 hours per week.
• Senior Resident (3 Year): Rs. 1,42,514/- per month.
• Senior Resident (1 Year): Rs. 1,19,082/- per month.

Application Process and Walk-in Interview

• Interview Date: August 18, 2026
• Registration Time: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
• Venue: Office of the Medical Superintendent, ESIC Hospital, Vannarpettai, Tirunelveli.

Documents Required for Interview

• Duly filled application form in the prescribed format (Annexure – 1).
• Two recent passport-size photographs.
• Proof of Date of Birth (Matriculation Certificate).
• SSLC/Matriculation Certificate or equivalent.
• Certificate of Qualification (MBBS, Diploma/Degree certificate).
• Certificate of registration with the concerned Medical Council (NMC or Tamil Nadu State Medical Council).
• Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) in the prescribed format, if applicable. OBC candidates must ensure their certificate is valid and issued within the due date by the authority mentioned in the format.
• Experience Certificate.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer, if applicable (for candidates in Government Service).

Selection Procedure

• Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the interview.
• Medical fitness and verification of character and antecedents are mandatory.
• For Senior Resident (3 Year) and (1 Year) posts, a security deposit of Rs. 30,000/- and Rs. 15,000/- respectively, must be furnished via DD/Bankers Cheque in favour of 'ESIC A/c No 1' payable at Tirunelveli. This amount may be appropriated towards administrative cost if the candidate resigns/terminates their contract within nine months.

Important Terms and Conditions

• The number of vacancies may be subject to change without prior notice.
• The contractual engagement will be for a minimum period of one year, extendable based on satisfactory performance, up to a maximum of three years (for Full Time Specialist/Senior Resident 3 Year) or five years (for Part Time Specialist).
• No private practice is allowed for Full Time Specialists and Senior Residents.
• Selected candidates must join within 7 days of receiving the selection order.
• Professional indemnity policy is required for Specialists, covering professional liability.
• No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview or for joining the post.
• The appointment does not confer any right or preference for regular employment.
• Absence from work for 15 days without proper permission will be considered abandonment of engagement.
• The contract may be terminated by either side with one month's prior notice.
• Candidates claiming reservation benefits must ensure they possess valid certificates in the prescribed format.
