Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit and Relaxation

• The minimum age for all candidates is 18 years.
• The maximum age for general candidates (non-Chhattisgarh domicile) is 30 years.
• For general candidates who are original residents of Chhattisgarh, the maximum age limit is 40 years.
• Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC) categories who are Chhattisgarh domiciles will receive a 5-year age relaxation, making their maximum age 45 years.
• Chhattisgarh Government employees (permanent, temporary, work-charged, or contingency paid) and employees of state corporations/boards have a maximum age limit of 38 years.
• Women candidates who are widows, destitute, or divorced will receive an additional 10 years of age relaxation on top of their respective category limits.
• Ex-servicemen and retrenched government servants may deduct their service period from their age, provided the final age does not exceed 3 years beyond the maximum permissible limit for their category.
• Voluntary Home Guards are eligible for up to 8 years of relaxation, with a maximum age of 38 years.
• Awarded sportspersons and individuals from inter-caste marriages (Savarna partner) may receive a maximum of 5 years age relaxation.
• The maximum age limit, including all applicable relaxations for any category, shall not exceed 45 years.

Selection Process

1. Written Examination:
   • An objective-type written test will be conducted for both Stenographer Grade-3 (Hindi/English) and Assistant Grade-3 posts.
   • The exam will consist of 25 questions, with each question carrying 2 marks, totaling 50 marks.
   • The duration of the written examination will be 30 minutes.
   • Subjects covered will include General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mathematics, and General Mental Ability.
   • Candidates who apply for multiple posts will have their score from a single written examination considered for all applied positions.
2. Skill Test:
   • Based on the merit list from the written examination, candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:10 ratio (10 candidates for each vacancy) for the skill test.
   • For Stenographer Grade-3 (Hindi/English):
     • A dictation of approximately 500 words (Hindi/English) will be given at a speed of 100 words per minute for 5 minutes.
     • Candidates must transcribe this dictation accurately on a computer within 45 minutes.
     • A penalty of 1/2 mark will be deducted for each error. The skill test is for 500 marks.
     • A separate computer typing speed test of 5,000 Key-Depressions per hour (KDPH) in Hindi/English and a computer knowledge test will also be conducted.
   • For Assistant Grade-3 Cadre:
     • Candidates will be required to type a mixed Hindi and English passage of approximately 250 words on a computer within 10 minutes.
     • A penalty of 1/2 mark will be deducted for each error. The skill test is for 250 marks.
     • A separate computer typing speed test of 5,000 Key-Depressions per hour (KDPH) in Hindi/English and a computer knowledge test will also be conducted.
   • Skill Test Environment: All skill tests will be conducted on Ubuntu Linux operating system using Libre Office with Hindi-Vedmata/Kruti Dev 010 fonts.

How to Apply — Step by Step

1. Download Application Form: Obtain the prescribed application form from the official website of the Baloda Bazar District Court (balodabazar.dcourts.gov.in) or from the recruitment notification itself.
2. Fill the Form: Complete all sections of the application form accurately and legibly in Hindi.
3. Affix Photograph: Paste a recent, self-attested color passport-size photograph in the designated space on the application form.
4. Attach Documents: Enclose self-attested photocopies of all necessary documents, including educational certificates, caste certificate, domicile certificate, experience certificates, and any other relevant documents for age relaxation or eligibility.
