The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur, has issued a notification for the recruitment of one Project Research Scientist III (Medical) position. This recruitment is for a research project titled "Strengthening ambulatory care for Non-Communicable Disease (STAR NCD): An Implementation Research," which is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Dr. S. Kalaiselvi is the Principal Investigator and Dr. Sujiv Akkilagunta is the Co-PI for this project. The initial duration of the appointment is six months, extendable up to the project end date of 30th March 2027, based on project requirements and performance. Selected candidates will be required to work in the Nagpur district, including travel to rural and urban areas for community-based project activities.

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Project Research Scientist III (Medical)	Applicants must hold an MBBS, BVSc, BDS, or BAMS degree, combined with either a Post Graduate Degree (MD/MVSc/MDS/MPH, including integrated PG degrees) OR an MPH/PhD.	A minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in health research is required.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The maximum age limit for candidates applying for this position is 45 years. Age relaxation rules apply as per government norms:

• For SC/ST candidates, a relaxation of up to 5 years is applicable.
• For OBC candidates, a relaxation of up to 3 years is applicable.
• Candidates with prior experience working in a Government Research Organization may be granted an age relaxation of up to 5 years on a case-to-case basis, subject to approval by the DG, ICMR/Head of the Institution.

Salary Structure

The selected Project Research Scientist III (Medical) will receive a consolidated monthly salary of ₹93,000, along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) at 20% of the basic salary.

Selection Process

The selection process for the Project Research Scientist III (Medical) post at AIIMS Nagpur involves multiple stages:

Terms and Conditions

This is a tenure-based position for a fixed duration under an ICMR-funded research project and is not a regular post under ICMR or AIIMS Nagpur. The initial appointment is for 06 months, extendable up to 30th March 2027, based on performance. The selected candidate cannot claim permanent employment. A 30-day notice period is required if a candidate wishes to resign. Applicants currently working on ICMR/DHR sanctioned projects must submit a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Principal Investigator. Candidates should be fluent in English, Marathi, and Hindi. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview. Apart from the consolidated salary and HRA, no other allowances are admissible. The project is community-based, requiring travel across different areas of Nagpur district.
