North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Tura Campus, has released a notification for the recruitment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a temporary research project. This fellowship is funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, and is focused on "Development of Vegetative Propagation Protocol and Vacuum Freeze Dehydrated Probiotic Powder from Sohiong (Prunus nepalensis) Fruit." Dr. R. Sasikumar, Associate Professor-Food Technology, is the Principal Investigator for this project. The selected candidate may also have the opportunity to enroll in a Ph.D. Programme at NEHU, subject to university rules.

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Desirable: Applicants with working experience in Food Testing Laboratories or National Level Laboratories, particularly with instruments like HPLC, DSC, Particle size analyzer, Spectrophotometric, FT-IR, are preferred. Knowledge of FSSAI, BIS, ISO standards, and statistical tools for science and technology will also be an advantage.

Salary and Emoluments

The emoluments for the selected candidate are specified as follows, though there is a discrepancy in the notification regarding the JRF post and SRF salary:

Selection Procedure

The selection of candidates for the Junior Research Fellow position will be based on a personal interview.
