For Non-Medical Candidates:

• Educational Qualification: A Doctorate (Ph.D.) in a relevant subject such as Community Medicine, Preventive & Social Medicine, Pediatrics, Medicine, Tropical Medicine, Community Health Administration, Health Administration, Family Medicine, Epidemiology, or Public Health from a recognized university.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of research experience in a relevant field.
• Other Requirements: Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools and Data Management.

Selection Process

Nature of Duties for Senior Health Economist

• Supporting and executing DHR programs and providing leadership in HTA research projects.
• Managing scientific and technical aspects of DHR's HTA projects.
• Coordinating HTAIn activities and guiding junior staff.
• Inviting applications/proposals for HTA studies from states and medical institutions.
• Facilitating MoU signing with states, medical colleges, and resource centers.
• Submitting proposals for Technical Appraisal Committee recommendations.
• Seeking clarifications from applicants on various issues.
• Submitting proposals with expert committee recommendations.
• Maintaining effective working relationships with DHR, ICMR, Government Ministries (NRHM, MHFW), NHSRC, DGHS, and international partners.
• Supporting the HTA advisory group and secretariat in stakeholder engagement.
• Liaising with international partners for progress and quality of HTAIn outputs.
• Contributing to drafting official reports, workshop summaries, and event summaries.
• Organizing workshops, seminars, Technical Appraisal Committee meetings, Board Meetings, and Stakeholders meetings.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Department of Health Research.
