Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Applicants must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the government.
• Experience: Candidates must have served continuously for a minimum of five years as a Senior Administrative Officer (formerly Sheristadar) of an Additional District & Sessions Judge or as a Head Administrative Officer (formerly Head Assistant) within the District & Sessions Judges Establishment. This experience must be valid as on January 1, 2026.
• Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of India as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.

1. Application Form: Obtain the Standard Form of Application as published in the Assam Gazette Part IX.
2. Required Documents:
   • Three recent passport-size photographs (self-attested).
   • Self-attested photocopies of testimonials proving age, caste, educational qualification, etc.
   • Experience certificate issued by the concerned District & Sessions Judge or Tribunal.
   • Copies of service book.
   • ACRs (Annual Confidential Reports) for the last five years.
   • "No-Objection Certificate" from the competent authority.
   • Mandatorily provide contact number and e-mail ID (if available) in the application.
3. Submission Method: Applications, along with all required testimonials, should be addressed to 'The Member, Motor Accident Claims, Tribunal, Sonitpur, Tezpur, PIN 784001, Assam'. Candidates can send their applications via ordinary post or place them in the designated "Drop Box for applications for the post of Sheristadar/CAO” during office hours at the MACT, Sonitpur premises.
4. Envelope Marking: The envelope must clearly state "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER / SHERISTADAR” at the top.
5. Deadline: Completed applications must reach the undersigned's office on or before August 14, 2026, by 4:30 PM. Applications received after this date will not be entertained, and postal delays will not be considered.
6. Incomplete Applications: Applications lacking necessary particulars, signature, photographs, or testimonials will be summarily rejected.

Selection Procedure

• Shortlisting: A provisional list of shortlisted candidates will be prepared based on the submitted applications and eligibility criteria.
• Interview/Viva-voce: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview/viva-voce. The date and time will be announced on the official website, www.sonitpur.dcourts.gov.in. Candidates must produce original testimonials during the interview; failure to do so will result in summary rejection of their candidature. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
• Final Selection: The final selection will be made solely on the basis of marks obtained in the interview/viva-voce. The criterion for selection is "seniority-cum-merit."
• Disqualification: Any form of canvassing, directly or indirectly, will lead to disqualification of the candidate.
