1. Merit List based on Academic Marks — Selection will primarily be based on marks obtained in Std X. For COVID Pass candidates, IX Std marks or X Std Half-yearly marks (signed by Principal) will be considered.
2. Tie-breaking Rule 1 — In case of equal marks, the candidate with older age will be preferred.
3. Tie-breaking Rule 2 — If both marks and date of birth are same, the candidate who passed Std X examination earlier will be considered first.
4. Document Verification — Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification.
5. Medical Examination — Candidates must meet physical fitness standards as per Apprentices Act, 1961 rules and produce a Medical Certificate.

Educational Qualifications

Ex-ITI Candidates

• Fitter, Electrician, Machinist: Must have passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% marks) with Science & Maths under the 10+2 system or equivalent, and possess a National Trade Certificate (of one year or more) in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.
• Carpenter, Painter, Welder: Must have passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% marks) under the 10+2 system or equivalent, and possess a National Trade Certificate (of one year or more) in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.
• Programming and System Administration Assistant (PASAA): Must have passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% marks) and possess a National Trade Certificate in Information Technology, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Database System Assistant, or Software Testing Assistant issued by NCVT or SCVT.

Freshers Candidates

• Fitter, Electrician, Machinist: Must have passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) with Science & Maths under the 10+2 system or equivalent.
• Carpenter, Painter, Welder: Must have passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under the 10+2 system or equivalent.
• MLT (Radiology & Pathology): Must have passed Std XII examination under the 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry & Biology.

Age Limit (as on 07 September 2026)

• ITI Candidates: Must have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age.
• Non-ITI Candidates (Freshers): Must have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 22 years of age.

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST candidates: 5 years
• OBC candidates: 3 years
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years

Selection Process

1. Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in Std X. For candidates who passed Std X under COVID provisions, proof of Std IX marks or Std X Half-yearly marks (duly signed by the Principal) will be considered.
2. Tie-breaking Rules:
   • If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be preferred.
   • If both marks and date of birth are the same, the candidate who passed the Std X examination earlier will be considered first.
3. Trade Allotment: Freshers can exercise options for trades. Allotment will be based on merit and vacancy availability. Once a trade is allotted, requests for change will not be entertained. Ex-ITI candidates will be trained in the trade for which they hold an ITI certificate.
4. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. They must produce all relevant original documents and certificates.
5. Medical Examination: Candidates must be physically fit as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 rules. A Medical Certificate signed by a Government authorized doctor (Gazetted Officer) not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon from a Central/State Hospital is required at the time of document verification.

How to Apply

1. Visit the Official Website: Go to https://pb.icf.gov.in.
2. Read Notification: Thoroughly read the official notification (No. PB/RR/39/App/2026) for detailed instructions and eligibility criteria.
3. Prepare Documents: Keep all relevant documents, certificates, and a recent passport-size photograph (not more than 200 KB, in jpg/jpeg format) ready for upload.
4. Fill Application Form: Complete the online application form with accurate details.
5. Generate Registration ID: A system-generated registration number will be provided, which serves as the candidate's individual Registration ID.
6. Password: The date of birth in "ddmmyyyy" format will be used as the password for login.
7. Pay Application Fee: If applicable, pay the processing fee of ₹100 + service charges online. SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates are exempted from the fee. Preserve the unique Transaction ID for future reference.
8. Review and Submit: Carefully check all entered details before final submission.
9. Print Acknowledgement: After successful submission, generate and print the acknowledgement form. This printout is required at the time of Document Verification.
