Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

The minimum educational qualifications vary depending on whether the candidate is applying as a Fresher or Ex-ITI.

Ex-ITI Candidates

  • Fitter, Electrician, Machinist: Must have passed Std X (with a minimum of 50% marks) with Science & Maths under the 10+2 system or equivalent, and possess a National Trade Certificate (of one year or more) in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.

  • Non-ITI Candidates (Freshers): Must have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 22 years of age.

Selection Process

The selection for ICF Act Apprentice positions will be based on the following criteria:
  1. Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in Std X. For candidates who passed Std X under COVID provisions, proof of Std IX marks or Std X Half-yearly marks (duly signed by the Principal) will be considered.
  2. Tie-breaking Rules:
    • If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be preferred.
    • If both marks and date of birth are the same, the candidate who passed the Std X examination earlier will be considered first.
  3. Trade Allotment: Freshers can exercise options for trades. Allotment will be based on merit and vacancy availability. Once a trade is allotted, requests for change will not be entertained. Ex-ITI candidates will be trained in the trade for which they hold an ITI certificate.
  4. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. They must produce all relevant original documents and certificates.
  5. Medical Examination: Candidates must be physically fit as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 rules. A Medical Certificate signed by a Government authorized doctor (Gazetted Officer) not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon from a Central/State Hospital is required at the time of document verification.
