Application Fee and Payment Method

Selection Process

The selection process for the Group-D posts will involve two main stages:

1. Written Examination (75 Marks): Candidates will first appear for a written test designed to assess their proficiency in language, handwriting, general knowledge, and current affairs. Only those who qualify in this examination will proceed to the next stage. The ratio for shortlisting candidates for the viva-voce will be 1:6 (6 candidates for every advertised post), as far as practicable.
2. Viva Voce (25 Marks): Shortlisted candidates will undergo a viva voce to evaluate their overall personality.

A final merit list will be prepared based on the combined scores from the written test and the viva voce.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The written examination will be for a total of 75 marks with a duration of 2 hours. The breakdown of the exam is as follows:

• Part I: Letter Writing (25 Marks)
  • This section tests the candidate's proficiency in language, including the ability to write letters in Bengali, and assesses their capacity for expression and clarity of thought.
• Part II: Hand Writing Test (25 Marks)
  • Candidates will be required to copy paragraphs, each consisting of 60 words, in both English and Bengali.
• Part III: General Knowledge & Current Affairs (25 Marks)
  • This part evaluates the candidate's general intelligence, power of observation, and knowledge of current affairs.

The Viva Voce will carry 25 marks and is intended to assess the overall personality of the candidate.

Pay Scale and Benefits

Selected candidates for the Group-D posts will receive a monthly gross salary of Rs. 12,000/-. This amount represents 75% of the entry-level pay of Rs. 16,000/- in Pay Matrix Level-01, as per the TSCS (Revised Pay) (First Amendment) Rules, 2018. The pay structure is subject to revision by the Government from time to time.
