Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) has issued a notification for the CLW Medical Practitioner Recruitment 2026, inviting qualified candidates to a walk-in interview for engagement as Contract Medical Practitioners (Specialists). Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualifications

To be eligible for these specialist positions, candidates must meet specific educational and registration requirements.

Age Limit

The age criteria for candidates vary depending on whether they are fresh applicants or retired medical professionals. The age calculation will be based on July 31, 2026.

Remuneration and Facilities

Selected Contract Medical Practitioners will receive a competitive monthly remuneration along with certain facilities, subject to applicable rules.

Retired Railway/Government Doctor	Remuneration + pension drawn should not exceed the last pay drawn at the time of retirement.	No complimentary pass/PTO. Free medical treatment for self only. Expenses for out-station duty.

If government accommodation is provided, an amount equivalent to the sum of HRA and license fee will be deducted from the monthly remuneration.

Nature of Engagement

The engagement of Contract Medical Practitioners is purely on a contractual basis for a period of one year or until regular UPSC-selected doctors become available, whichever is earlier. The services are terminable before the expiry of one year by giving 15 days' notice from either side without assigning any reason, or if the practitioner is mentally/physically incapacitated. This engagement is a stop-gap arrangement and does not confer any right for automatic regularization or absorption into regular service.

How to Attend the Walk-in Interview

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and are interested in these positions must attend the walk-in interview on the specified date and time.

1. Application Form: Candidates must fill out the application form (Annexure 'A' provided in the notification).
2. Documents Required: Bring all original certificates along with attested copies of the same. These include documents for age proof, educational qualifications (MBBS, PG Degree/Diploma), experience, and a valid MCI registration certificate.
3. Photographs: Carry two recent passport-size photographs, duly attested. One of these should be pasted on the application form.
4. Interview Venue: Report to the Office of the Principal Chief Medical Officer, Kasturba Gandhi Hospital, Chittaranjan, Pin Code 713331.
5. Reporting Time: Candidates must report by 10:00 AM on August 25, 2026. The Viva-voce is scheduled to start at 11:30 AM.
