The Lok Nayak Hospital Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 invites applications for 55 Senior Resident positions on an ad-hoc basis. These roles are for an initial period of 44 days and are open to eligible Indian Nationals. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following educational qualifications and other requirements to be eligible for the Senior Resident posts:
- Essential Qualification: Applicants must possess an MBBS degree along with a Post Graduate Degree/DNB/Diploma or Post Doctoral Degree (or equivalent) in the concerned specialty. The qualification must be from an NMC/MCI recognized university or institute.
- DMC Registration: Candidates must have DMC registration for the concerned specialty/super specialty.
- Result Declaration: The result of the PG Degree/DNB/Diploma or Post Doctoral Degree must be declared before the date of the interview.
- Non-PG Senior Residents: In cases where applicants do not possess the essential PG qualification, they may be considered as Non-PG SRs. Such candidates may be appointed for 44 days or until the posts are filled with suitable PG-qualified candidates, whichever is earlier.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The age limit for candidates applying for the Senior Resident positions is as follows:

Relaxation Criteria:
In accordance with circular No. F.No.121/26/2010/H&FW/1996-2045, dated 10.06.2011, issued by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, the following relaxation applies in case of non-availability of fresh candidates:
- Candidates who have completed three years of Senior Residency but are willing to serve as Senior Residents will be allowed to appear in the interview, especially in specialties with perpetual shortages.
- Separate merit lists will be prepared for fresh candidates and for those who have completed three years of residency. Fresh candidates will be considered first.
- Appointments from the second list (those with 3 years of residency) will be for a maximum period of one year and are not renewable thereafter.
Application Fee and Payment Method
There is no application fee for candidates appearing for the walk-in interview for the Senior Resident posts at Lok Nayak Hospital.
Selection Process
The selection process for the Senior Resident positions at Lok Nayak Hospital will be based on a walk-in interview. The stages are:
- Application Submission: Interested and eligible candidates must submit their application in the prescribed format along with original and self-attested photocopies of all requisite documents to the E-I Branch of Lok Nayak Hospital.
- Walk-in Interview: Candidates who have submitted their applications will appear for a walk-in interview as per the schedule provided in the notification. The interviews will be conducted at the Conference Hall, Medical Director, LNH.
- Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on the interview performance. Separate lists will be made for fresh candidates and those with prior residency experience, with fresh candidates being given preference.
- Provisional Joining: Selected candidates will be allowed to join provisionally if their DMC registration is pending, provided they submit the certificate within one month of joining.
No waiting list will be prepared; only a rank list will be valid until the next interview notice is published.
Pay Scale and Benefits
Selected candidates for the Senior Resident posts will be offered emoluments as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 11.

The tenure for Senior Residents will be for a period of 44 days, extendable up to a maximum of three years, including any prior ad-hoc/regular service as Senior Resident in any NMC recognized institution, or until a regular Senior Resident joins, whichever is earlier.
