About the Recruitment

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the specific educational qualifications and experience requirements for each post as outlined below. All applicants must be female, as these positions are reserved for women.
- Principal: Requires an MA (Hindi/English) or MSc (Physics/Chemistry/Zoology/Botany/Maths/Computer Science) degree from a recognized university. Additionally, candidates must have 4 years of teaching experience in Class 9-12 or 4 years of experience as a trained graduate headmaster in a recognized junior high school. Other options include a Postgraduate Diploma in Science with 15/20 years of commendable service or a Postgraduate degree with 10 years of teaching experience in Intermediate classes.
- PGT Hindi: MA in Hindi with Sanskrit as a subject at the BA level or a Shastri examination from a recognized Sanskrit college/university. Preference will be given to candidates with an LT Diploma or B.Ed. degree.
- PGT English: A postgraduate degree (MA) in English. Preference will be given to candidates with an LT Diploma or B.Ed. degree.
- PGT Maths: An MA or MSc in Mathematics, or a BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with a 3-year course.
- PGT Biology: An MSc in Botany or Zoology, or an MSc in Agricultural Botany with Zoology at the BSc level, or an MSc in Agricultural Zoology with Botany at the BSc level, or a UGC recognized MSc in Life Science, or a BSc with a Postgraduate Diploma in Biology from the UP Education Department.
- PGT Chemistry: An MSc in Chemistry, or a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry with a 3-year course, or a UGC recognized Postgraduate (Biochemistry), or a BSc with a Postgraduate Diploma in Chemistry from the UP Education Department.
- PGT Physics: An MSc in Physics, or a BSc with a Postgraduate Diploma in Physics from the UP Education Department.
- Computer Science: M.Tech (Computer Science) or B.E./B.Tech (Computer Science) from a recognized university, or MCA, or MSc (Computer Science) from a recognized university, or DOEACC 'B' level, or a Postgraduate degree with PGDCA, or a Postgraduate degree with BSc (Computer Course component of at least 1/3rd of Science course), or a Postgraduate degree with DOEACC 'A' level.
- Care Taker: A Postgraduate degree and B.Ed.
- Lab Assistant: 12th Pass in the Science stream with a Diploma in Lab Technology, or 12th Pass in the Science stream from a recognized board.
- Office Superintendent / Clerk: 12th Pass from the UP Board or equivalent. Must have Computer Science as a separate subject in High School/Intermediate, or a DOEACC/NIELIT CCC certificate, or a Diploma/Degree in Computer Science. Required Hindi typing speed is 25 WPM and English typing speed is 30 WPM.
- Assistant Cook, Peon, Chowkidar: Must be 8th Pass.
Candidates for Care Taker, Peon, Chowkidar, and Assistant Cook positions must reside in the school at night. Applicants should not suffer from any physical disability or infectious diseases.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The age limits for KGBV Banda Recruitment 2026 are calculated as on 01 April 2026.
- For the Principal post, the minimum age is 30 years and the maximum age is 45 years.
- For all other posts, the minimum age is 25 years and the maximum age is 45 years.
- The maximum age for service in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas is 60 years.
Age relaxation will be applicable as per the rules of the Uttar Pradesh Government. Candidates seeking reservation benefits must submit a valid caste certificate issued from their father's side. EWS candidates must provide a valid certificate for the financial year 2025-26.

Selection Process

In case of a tie in merit scores, candidates older in age will be given preference. If both merit and age are the same, candidates whose names appear earlier in alphabetical order (English) will be preferred.
Pay Scale and Benefits
The monthly gross salaries for the selected candidates are as follows:
- Principal: Rs. 30,000
- PGT (Hindi, English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Computer Science: Rs. 22,000
- Care Taker: Rs. 24,200
- Lab Assistant, Peon, Chowkidar: Rs. 7,147 (including EPF)
- Office Superintendent / Clerk: Rs. 12,430 (including EPF)
- Assistant Cook: Rs. 6,433 (including EPF)
These are contractual positions for 11 months and 29 days, with renewal subject to performance and approval from the District Magistrate.
