The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) has announced a recruitment drive for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions within the Regenerative Medicine & Stem Cell (RMS) Lab, Department of Biomedical Engineering. This recruitment aims to onboard talented and motivated candidates for two distinct research projects, offering a valuable opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge interdisciplinary research.

Vacancy Details and Project Information

A total of 3 Junior Research Fellow positions are available, distributed across two different research projects with varying durations and funding agencies.

• Project 1 (ANRF Funded): One position for a duration of 3 years.
  • Title: 3D-printed organ-on-chip for precision oncology for Ca lungs: drug sensitivity with cancer organoids and drug toxicity by IPSC-derived liver and cardiac organoids.
• Project 2 (BRNS Funded): Two positions, each for a duration of 5 months.
  • Title: Development of 3D printable antimicrobial composite hydrogels with metal-binding peptides for anti-inflammatory effects and bone tissue engineering.

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Candidates must meet specific educational qualifications and possess relevant experience to be considered for these JRF roles.

(Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or equivalent courses like M. Pharma.) with fellowships or 1 year of research experience.	Knowledge of organoid culture (for 3 years) is highly encouraged.
Junior Research Fellow (5-month positions for BRNS project)	M. Tech (Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Biosciences) with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. OR M. Sc. (Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or equivalent courses like M. Pharma.) with fellowships or 1 year of research experience.	Experience in 3D spheroid culture or microbiology with cell culture is highly encouraged.

Students who possess their own fellowships (such as DBT/DST-INSPIRE/ICMR/CSIR/UGC) are also encouraged to apply, particularly for the 5-month project, to gain experience in the IITH environment before potentially pursuing a PhD.

Age Limit

Applicants for the Junior Research Fellow positions must not be more than 32 years of age.

Salary and Remuneration

Selected candidates for the JRF positions will receive a consolidated monthly stipend comprising the standard JRF amount plus House Rent Allowance (HRA), as per the norms applicable to Junior Research Fellows.

Selection Process

The selection process for the JRF positions at IIT Hyderabad involves two main stages:

1. Shortlisting of Candidates: Applications will be reviewed, and candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic merit and relevant experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified via email by 4 PM on August 17, 2026.
2. Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo an online interview. The interviews are scheduled for the afternoon of August 18 or August 21, 2026. No communication will be entertained for candidates who are not shortlisted for the interview.
