Important Note: As per Ministry guidelines dated 19.05.2020, employees cannot be designated as a Pilot without prior authorization from the Central Government. Major Port Authorities may use designations like "Probationary Pilot" or "Trainee Pilot" until the individual is officially authorized by the Central Government to Pilot vessels.

Age Limit and Relaxation

• General Candidates: The upper age limit is 40 years.
• SC/ST Candidates: A concession of 5 years is admissible, making the upper age limit 45 years.
• OBC Candidates: A concession of 3 years is admissible, making the upper age limit 43 years.
• Existing Employees: Employees of the Chennai Port Trust or any other Major Port Authority who possess the prescribed qualifications and experience may apply, provided their age does not exceed 55 years.

1. Candidates must visit the "online Application Portal" (OAP) of the Ministry of Shipping at http://onlinevacancyshipmin.nic.in for initial application or information.
2. Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format, which is attached as Annexure-I to the official notification.
