About the NIT Durgapur Project Associate Recruitment 2026

The National Institute of Technology Durgapur has announced a recruitment drive for the position of Project Associate-I for a collaborative R&D project titled "Grid Readiness for Electrical Vehicle (EV): Enablers and Technological developments (GREET)". This project is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. The selected candidate will contribute to assessing the impact of EV charging infrastructure on distribution grids, developing optimal planning models, and creating algorithms for EV charging/discharging, among other tasks. The appointment is purely temporary, with a maximum duration until 10 June 2028, and performance will be reviewed every six months.

• Project Associate-I: 1 position

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following educational qualifications to be considered for the Project Associate-I role:

• Essential Qualification: A four-year Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science Engineering/Technology from a recognized university. Alternatively, candidates holding an M.E./M.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science Engineering are also eligible.
• Desirable Skills: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in power electronic-based circuit simulation & fabrication, microcontroller-based applications, proficiency in MATLAB, C, C++, Python programming, expertise in Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) using Real-Time Simulators, or experience in developing mobile applications, software, or webpages.

Salary and Fellowship Details

The monthly fellowship for the Project Associate-I position includes HRA as per Institute norms, with varying amounts based on qualification:

• For NET/GATE/National Level Exam Qualifiers: Rs 37,000 per month + HRA.
• For Other Candidates: Rs 30,000 per month + HRA.

Selection Process

The selection process for the Project Associate-I position involves two main stages:

1. Shortlisting: Applications received will be screened, and eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their qualifications and experience.
2. Test/Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email and must attend a physical test/interview. The interview will be conducted at the Meeting Room of the Electrical Engineering Department, NIT Durgapur.
