This JRF position is part of a DST-SERB sponsored project titled "Edge-Enabled Digital Twin for Multimodal Human Activity Recognition and Health Anomaly Detection in Smart Homes." The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Anjali, Assistant Professor, IT, at ABV-IIITM Gwalior.

About the Research Project

The project aims to develop an Edge-AI-enabled Digital Twin-based multimodal smart health monitoring system. This system will facilitate continuous, real-time detection of physiological and behavioral anomalies. It integrates wearable sensors, WiFi CSI, IMU, and ambient IoT data with lightweight edge intelligence to provide privacy-preserving, personalized health monitoring and early alerts. The project's outcome will be an optimized edge-deployable prototype for robust human activity recognition, anomaly detection, and Digital Twin-driven health insights, particularly for smart-home and elderly healthcare applications.

Junior Research Fellow Position Details

The recruitment is for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position. The duration of this position is a maximum of two years. Candidates selected for the JRF role may also have the opportunity to enroll in the Ph.D. program at ABV-IIITM Gwalior, subject to the institute's norms.

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

Candidates interested in the JRF position must meet the following educational qualifications and requirements:

OR B.Tech/B.E./M.Sc. in EC, CSE, IT, or EE. Candidates must have qualified GATE/NET in the relevant area for the JRF position.	Desirable Qualification: Candidates with a basic understanding of machine learning, deep learning, human activity recognition, and edge computing will be preferred.

In cases where a candidate has not qualified GATE/NET, a Project Associate position may be considered, with monthly emoluments in accordance with DST-SERB norms.

Fellowship Amount

The fellowship for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position will be provided as per the norms set by the Department of Science & Technology (DST).

Selection Procedure

• No Travel Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be provided to candidates for attending the interview.

Important Notes and Guidelines

• The duration of the JRF position is for a maximum of two years. However, the duration of the position can extend for a maximum of three years, extendable up to five years.
• If a candidate's performance is deemed unsatisfactory, the position may be terminated with a one-month notice period.
• Payment of the fellowship is contingent upon the receipt of funds from the sponsoring agency (DST-SERB).
• Upon successful completion of two years, the candidate may be promoted to the position of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) as per project and institute norms.
• Selected candidates are eligible to be enrolled in the Ph.D. program at ABV-IIITM Gwalior, adhering to the institute's regulations.
