APPSC Syllabus 2026 for Common Combined Examination Scheme

The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has officially released the syllabus for the Common Combined Examination Scheme 2026. This notification, dated 29th July 2026, outlines the General English and General Studies (Objective) syllabus for all Group A and Group B Technical posts that will be recruited under this new scheme. About the Common Combined Examination Scheme

The "Common Examination Scheme for Direct Recruitment to Group-A and Group-B, Technical posts (Gazetted, Non-Ministerial/Technical) Rules, 2026" was issued by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh vide Notification No. F.No.AR/186/2025-US-1-AR, dated 24th July 2026. This scheme aims to streamline the recruitment process for a wide range of technical positions. The rules apply to the following posts, among others:

• Agriculture Development Officer
• Horticulture Development Officer
• Veterinary Officer
• Assistant Director (Sericulture)
• Assistant Director (Textiles and Handicrafts)
• Finance & Accounts Officer/Treasury Officer
• Dairy Development Officer
• Sub-Treasury Officer
• Assistant Prosecutor
• Any other Group A and Group B Technical posts (Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) as decided by APPSC in consultation with the concerned Department.

APPSC Examination Pattern for Technical Posts

The Common Combined Examination Scheme for Group A and Group B Technical posts includes both written examinations and a Viva Voce Test. The total marks for the examination are 500, distributed as follows:

If a large number of applicants apply, the APPSC may conduct a Recruitment Test or Preliminary Examination to shortlist candidates for the main written examination. Minimum qualifying marks will be governed by the Omnibus Rules notified on 14th August 2023, with subsequent amendments.

Syllabus for General English (Objective)

The General English section of the APPSC Common Combined Examination will assess candidates' fundamental language abilities. This includes:

• Basic language skills
• Grammar rules
• Vocabulary skills
• Reading comprehension

Syllabus for General Studies (Objective)

The General Studies section aims to evaluate a candidate's general awareness of their surroundings and its relevance to society, as expected from an educated individual without specialized academic study. Key areas covered include:

• Current affairs and recent developments
• Day-to-day pragmatic observations
• Matters of importance, particularly in science and technology
• General awareness related to International, National, and North-East India events and topics
